Support The Next Generation: How do we get kids on the snowboard from an early age on? How can we set up structures to let them and sport grow? We show you how we achieved this with the successful SHRED KIDS program (3rd place FIS SnowKidz Awards 2022).
In this workshop we learned the importance of a good approach to breathing while snowboarding. We learned that using the breath effectively can boost our performance and can make the technical progression easier for our guests.
The Canadian teaching concepts presented in this clinic were based around their ‘Collaborative Teaching Approach’.

They focused on how to build engagement in lessons and how they train their instructors to build the stoke.
In the presentation Tom Langtry highlighted the APSI skills: Stance, Rotary, Edging, and Pressure Control. These skills work tougher to create the different APSI ski performances that they work on and develop: Skidded, Steered, Carved, Railed, Pure Carved and Mixed Performance.
Moving with purpose delved into the technical concepts that envelop the foundations of Snowboarding in the APSI. The clinic was underpinned by how moving with purpose ultimately contributes to the guest experience.
BASI is continually striving to be a more inclusive association. Renelle and Charlie shared how BASI has changed over the past ten years and what they are doing to improve. They also discussed female participation in snowsports.
