Over the past few weeks the Snowboard boys have been focusing on polishing their on-snow clinics, practicing delivering them to each other and a few other selected audiences, and fine tuning them based on feedback given.

Two weeks ago, Sam Smith and myself (Keith) gave a practice clinic to a group of Level Three instructors at Cardrona. Our clinic is entitled “Versatility”. It looks at how foot sensitivity has become an underlying theme throughout the SBINZ system and showcases the type of versatile riding our certification process creates. We received some excellent feedback from the senior snowboard crew at Cardrona and have made a few tweaks based on their suggestions.

Earlier this week, Rhys Jones and Tony Macri presented their clinic to a similar audience at Coronet Peak. Again, they received some great feedback and the Coronet crew were frothing on the topic; Safety-Fun-Achievement.

On Wednesday this week, the whole NZSIA and SBINZ Interski Team got together at Treble Cone. Over on the ski side of things, the team has been working hard on their demos, which snowboard will join in for one run. In this one run, we’ll be showcasing a few of our Level Three riding tasks and, depending on the jumps options on the side, putting in a little extra freestyle flavour.

We’re all flying out tomorrow, so keep following us on here, our Vimeo account and the SBINZ Facebook page, to to see what we’re up to. Read more about the on-snow clinic topics here.
