Why are we going?
The Interski Congress is a six-day event for the purpose of sharing and networking.
There are approximately 2000 snowsports internationals who attend the Interski Congress every four years. 37 member countries, most of whom will be represented by their National Demonstration Teams, will be at the Congress.
The Congress attracts the best of the instructing world across alpine skiing, snowboarding, adaptive, telemark and nordic. In addition there will be snowsports media, industry specialists, equipment suppliers and thousands of participants.
Over the coming few months the team of delegates that will represent New Zealand at Interski will be decided upon. Check out the NZ representatives category for more information.
How does the NZSIA Membership benefit?
Essentially, Interski gives us the opportunity to show the snowsports world our teaching progressions and standards in our different snowsport disciplines. This exposure is important in maintaining international recognition for our members and work opportunities in the Northern Skiing nations.
Interski also allows us to see what is happening at the forefront of snowsports teaching technique and broadens the knowledge of our technical experts. This knowledge then filters through to our trainers and members through courses and technical manuals.
Additionally, we’ll be posting all about the happenings of Interski right here, including clinic reviews, lots of videos, event photos, and even previews of our own NZ presentations. So stay tuned!
