Wednesday, October 20th, 2010Matt Phare gives us his insights on the last Interski in Korea, 2007.
“I was lucky enough to be able to join the last snowboard team at Interski in Korea and it was an amazing experience. Heading over there I didn’t know what to expect but I was really excited to see and hear what the other nations had to say, and to see where New Zealand fit in. We had 6 snowboarders and that turned out to be one of the bigger snowboard teams. The only exception was the host nation who had about 20 snowboarders waiting in the wings but unfortunately they weren’t allowed to participate in any of the clinics – the Korean Interski team didn’t recognise snowboarders! We felt a bit sorry for these guys because they really wanted to get involved, so during our demonstration in the closing ceremony we asked them to ride with the NZ team. They were sooooo happy and the local crowd gave us the biggest cheer of the night

Interski 2007 in Korea
Sunday, January 31st, 2010In 2007 NZSIA and SBINZ sent a team to the 18th Interski Congress in Korea. It was a very successful event, with lots of connections being made and plenty of knowledge gained.
